T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
