And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 Did you disobey my orders?" 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Musa said: what was thy object, O Samiri? 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 on the Day when the trumpet is blown: for on that Day We will assemble all such as had been lost in sin, their eyes dimmed [by terror,] 102 They shall consult together secretly: You did tarry but ten (centuries). 103 We know very well what they will say, when the justest of them in the way will say, 'You have tarried only a day.' 104
