The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 Now We have sent down to you a Book wherein is your Remembrance; will you not understand? 10
