The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
