Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
