“O Noble Messengers, eat good clean things, and do good deeds; I know all that you do.” 51 And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
