Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 And certainly, you (O Muhammad SAW) call them to a Straight Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
