The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blest be He who hath revealed the Criterion unto His bondman that he may be unto the worlds a warner. 1 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and He has not taken to Him a son, and He has no associate in the Kingdom; and He created every thing, then He ordained it very exactly. 2 And people have appointed other Gods besides Him, those who do not create anything but are themselves created, and those who do not have the power to harm or benefit themselves, and who do not have any authority over death or life nor over resurrection. 3 The unbelievers say: 'This is but a falsehood he has forged? another nation has helped him' So they have come with wrong and falsehood. 4 And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon." 5 Say: He has revealed it Who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth; surely He is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 6 And they say: what aileth this apostle, he eateth food and walketh about the market-places; wherefore is not an angel sent down unto him, so that he may be along with him a warner? 7 Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had an orchard from which he could eat." And these wicked people say: "You only follow a man ensorcelled." 8 See what kinds of comparisons they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find! 9
