The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Highly blessed is He, Who has sent down Al-Furqan, to His servant so that it may be a warner to all mankind: 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination. 2 Yet they have chosen for themselves other deities besides Him, who do not create anything but rather are themselves created, who have no power over their own benefits, or trouble, and who have no control over life, death, and resurrection. 3 Yet the unbelievers say: "This is nothing but a lie he has concocted in which others have aided him." They have come down to mischief and lies. 4 And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon." 5 Say to them, "It has been revealed by Him who knows every secret that is in the heavens and on the earth. Truly, He is most forgiving and most merciful." 6 And they say: what aileth this apostle, he eateth food and walketh about the market-places; wherefore is not an angel sent down unto him, so that he may be along with him a warner? 7 Or (why is not) a treasure sent down to him, or he is made to have a garden from which he should eat? And the unjust say: You do not follow any but a man deprived of reason. 8 Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way. 9
