۞ And those who expect not for a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride. 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 [whereas] on that same Day those who are destined for paradise will be graced with the best of abodes and the fairest place of repose. 24 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. 25 the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 Would that I had never chosen so and so for my companion! 28 Certainly he led me astray from the reminder after it had come to me; and the Shaitan fails to aid man. 29 The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," 30 Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals, etc.). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 Every time they raise an objection, We will bring you the truth and the best of explanations. 33 Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell shall have an evil place to dwell in, for they have strayed far from the right path. 34
