Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon. 61 And it is He who made the night and day a succession for whom He desires to remember or He desires to be thankful. 62 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"; 63 And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing. 64 And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting 65 Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to dwell. 66 who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but keep the golden mean between the two (extremes): 67 And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty; 68 Multiplied for him shall be the torment on the Day of Resurrection, and he shall therein abide disgraced. 69 Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 70 And whosoever repenteth and doeth good, he verily repenteth toward Allah with true repentance - 71 Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); 72 Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind; 73 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)." 74 They will be awarded the high place forasmuch as they were steadfast, and they will meet therein with welcome and the ward of peace, 75 Dwelling therein;- how beautiful an abode and place of rest! 76 Say thou: my Lord careth not for you were it not for your prayer; whereas ye have even belied, so presently this denial shall come as the cleaving punishment. 77
