And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
