And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
