Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
