When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
