۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 And Pharaoh sent heralds unto all cities, 53 "These," they said, "are only a small band, 54 And lo! they are offenders against us. 55 we are a large and watchful force." 56 So We made them leave the gardens and springs of water, 57 Treasures, and every kind of honourable position; 58 Thus it was: but [in the course of time] We were to bestow all these [things] as a heritage on the children of Israel. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 'No, indeed' he replied, 'my Lord is with me and He will guide me' 62 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Strike the sea with your staff', so it divided and each part was as a mighty mount. 63 In the meantime We made the others approach that place. 64 and We saved Moses and those who were with him together, 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most of them are not believers. 67 And yet, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 68
