And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 And now we have none to intercede for us, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
