Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
