The Thamud gave the lie to the Messengers. 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 143 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 144 And I ask of you no hire therefor; MY hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 In gardens and watersprings. 147 sown fields, and palms with slender spathes? 148 And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 “And do not follow those who exceed the limits.” 151 Who corrupt the land and do not reform it." 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it: 157 So the torment took hold of them: verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
