Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
