The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
