The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
