The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
