The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
