The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
