And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
