Can one who was given a better promise, which he will find come true, be like him who was given a little enjoyment of this life, but who will afterwards be brought (to judgement) on the Day of Resurrection? 61 (Let them not forget) that the Day when Allah will call unto them, and say: "Where are those whom you imagined to be My associates?" 62 Those about whom the Word will have come true (to be punished) will say: "Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray, as we were astray ourselves. We declare our innocence (from them) before You. It was not us they worshipped." 63 (The sinners) will be told: "Invoke your partners." They will call on them, but they will not answer; and they will see the torment (and wish) if only they had come to guidance. 64 (God) will ask them on that day: "What answer did you give the apostles?" 65 On that day (all) tidings will be dimmed for them, nor will they ask one of another, 66 However, those who have repented and have become righteously striving believers will perhaps have everlasting happiness. 67 And your Lord creates whatsoever He wills and chooses, no choice have they (in any matter). Glorified be Allah, and exalted above all that they associate as partners (with Him). 68 Your Lord knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal. 69 And He is Allah; there is no god except He. The Praise is His in the former as in the latter. His is the Judgement, to Him you shall be returned. 70 Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?" 71 Say thou: bethink ye, if Allah made day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, what god is there beside Allah, who would bring you night wherein ye have repose? Behold ye not? 72 It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful. 73 And on the Day He shall call out to them and say, "Where are those whom you alleged were My partners." 74 And We shall take out from every nation a witness and We shall say: Bring your proof. Then they will know that Allah hath the Truth, and all that they invented will have failed them. 75
