Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]. 41 Say, "Journey through the land, and see how those before you met their end -- most of them, ascribed partners with God." 42 So turn your face exclusively towards the True Faith before there comes the Day whose coming from Allah cannot be averted, the Day when people will split into groups. 43 Those who disbelieve do so against their own souls. Those who do good pave the way for their own benefit. 44 That He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers. 45 And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful. 46 Indeed, We sent before thee Messengers unto their people, and they brought them the clear signs; then We took vengeance upon those who sinned; and it was ever a duty incumbent upon Us, to help the believers. 47 Allah is he Who sends forth the winds so they raise a cloud, then He spreads it forth in the sky as He pleases, and He breaks it up so that you see the rain coming forth from inside it; then when He causes it to fall upon whom He pleases of His servants, lo! they are joyful 48 Though they were before this, before it was sent down upon them, confounded in sure despair. 49 Look, therefore, at the prints of Allah's mercy (in creation): how He quickeneth the earth after her death. Lo! He verily is the Quickener of the Dead, and He is Able to do all things. 50 Even if We had sent the wind and caused (the plants) to turn yellow and to fade away, they would still have remained in disbelief. 51 You cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they retreat, turning about. 52 Nor do you guide the blind out of their error; you only make those hear who believe in Our signs, so they have submitted. (The disbelievers are referred to as blind.) 53
