Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 Guidance and mercy for the righteous. 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 There are some human beings who purchase an enchanting diversion in order to lead people away from the way of Allah without having any knowledge, who hold the call to the Way of Allah to ridicule. A humiliating chastisement awaits them. 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
