The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!" 31 And those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Did we keep you back from guidance after it had come to you? Nay, but you were Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disobedient to Allah, etc.). 32 Those deemed weak will say to those deemed great, "No, it was your scheming night and day when you commanded us to reject God and assign equals to Him." But they will show their remorse when they see the punishment. We will put iron collars round the necks of those who had been bent on denying the truth. They will be requited only in proportion to their misdeeds. 33 And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers." 34 They say, "We have more wealth and children; and we are surely not going to be punished." 35 Say thou: verily my Lord expandeth the provision for whomsoever He will and stinteth it; but most of mankind know not. 36
