And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign unto them is the night. We draw off the day therefrom, and lo! they are darkened. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They are only waiting for a single blast that will seize them, but they will go on contending. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
