۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
