1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
