۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
