۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
