And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
