Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
