3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
