And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
