3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
