And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
