And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon. 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 and guided them to the straight path; 118 And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Verily! They were two of Our believing slaves. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 Verily he was one of Our bondmen believing. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; 135 We then destroyed the others. 136 Verily, you pass by them in the morning. 137 and at night.
