Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
