Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 we are the rangers, 165 We glorify God." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
