Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
