S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a nation did We destroy before them! (When they approached their doom) they cried out (for deliverance), but the time for deliverance was already past. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
