We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 We have sent down a Book to you which is blessed, so that people may apply their minds to its revelations, and the men of wisdom may reflect. 29 And We vouchsafed unto Da'ud Sulaiman. How excellent a bondman! verily he was oft-returning. 30 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. 31 he said: “Lo! I have come to love this wealth on account of the remembrance of my Lord.” And when the horses disappeared, 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, so that it blew gently, at his behest, wherever he willed, 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. 40
