Remember Our votary Job because he called to his Lord: "Satan has afflicted me with disease and distress." 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 Their followers will say, "In fact, it is you who deserve condemnation. It was you who led us to hell, a terrible dwelling". 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
