And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and other such torments. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
