So will he whose bosom Allah has opened up for Islam – he is therefore upon a light from his Lord – ever be equal to one who is stone hearted? Therefore ruin is for those whose hearts are hardened towards the remembrance of Allah; they are in open error. 22 Allah has sent down the best discourse, a Book, consimilar in its oftrepeated (verses) that the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble; and thereafter their skins and hearts soften to the Remembrance of Allah. Such is the Guidance of Allah, whereby He guides whosoever He will; and whosoever Allah leads astray, he has no guide. 23 Could, then, one who shall have nothing but is [bare] face to protect him from the awful suffering [that will befall him] on Resurrection Day [be likened to the God-conscious]? [On that Day,] the evildoers will be told: "Taste [now] what you have earned [in life]!" 24 Those before them rejected (prophets), therefore there came to them the chastisement from whence they perceived not. 25 So Allah made them taste disgrace in worldly life. But the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew. 26 And indeed We have put forth for men, in this Quran every kind of similitude in order that they may remember. 27 A Lecture in Arabic, containing no crookedness, that haply they may ward off (evil). 28 Allah propoundeth a similitude: man having several partners, quarelling, and a man wholly belonging to one man. Are the two equal in likeness? All praise unto Allah. But most of them know not. 29 Verily thou art mortal, and verily they are mortals. 30 Then surely on the day of resurrection you will contend one with another before your Lord. 31
